Birthday Board appointment for Martyn
East Midlands Ceramic's development manager, Martyn Slawson, has had the ideal 40th birthday present — promotion to the board of directors.
Martyn, who has been with the family-run company for 22 years, has served in a wide variety or roles, including managing the EMC Tiles, showroom and warehouse in Loughborough.
Martyn said: "I have just celebrated my 40th birthday and this is the perfect gift. I am delighted to be joining the board and look forward to helping to expand the company's commercial activities — as well as maintaining and building on our unrivalled reputation for customer service, quality and value for money."
Martyn lives in Kimberley, with his wife Louise and seven-year-old son, Oliver.
EMC Tiles managing director, Barry Slawson said: "It is a great pleasure to have my son Martyn on the board. He has been involved extensively in the company's activities and has a solid background in all elements of the business. He will be especially involved in the growth and development of the company."
EMC Tiles was founded in Nottingham in1978 and is well established as one of the region's leading ceramic tile suppliers for the trade, contract and domestic customers.
