NEW SPONSORS ENSURE SUCCESS OF TTA AWARDS 2018

New sponsors coming on board for the TTA Awards look like ensuring that this year’s Awards will be the most successful ever. Along with the high calibre of entries – a lot of them from first-time entrants – May’s gala celebration night is now shaping up to be an event that you cannot afford to miss.

This year there are an impressive nine Gold sponsors. The TTA is delighted to welcome the latest Gold sponsors to sign up – British Ceramic Tile, Walls and Floors, Tilemaster and Trimline. BCT have recently rejoined the TTA and provide valuable support from the tile manufacturing side of the industry.

Walls and Floors are a new retail member of the TTA, and their support for the industry is much appreciated. Tilemaster is a repeat sponsor and the fact that they are back shows that under their new ownership structure, they are continuing to push the Tilemaster brand in the UK. Meanwhile Trimline have supported the Awards in the past, but are sponsoring at a Gold level for the first time.

Ben White, marketing manager at Trimline, says: “Trimline Group are pleased to announce we have partnered with the Tile Association, and acknowledge the growing recognition and reputation that they hold in the industry, as well as the impressive number of new members. As a result of this we are looking forward to the many benefits associated with the TTA including technical support, training and leads. We will be supporting the awards event in May as a gold sponsor and we look forward to catching up with all the familiar faces out there then.”

Meanwhile, according to Walls and Floors, a retailer with a product portfolio of more than 4,000 lines: “Joining the TTA is a really positive move, offering specific technical and independent support and keeping abreast of all industry relating regulations and changes.  It’s important as we serve through many multi channels that we can offer the support and service that is required, and joining the TTA is an integral part of that.”

For Tilemaster, managing director Mark Kelly says: “Our business is completely geared around our customers and we constantly strive to ensure that our motto – “because we care” – is reflected throughout the company. Being involved with The Tile Association and the Awards gives us a further opportunity to support the customer and we’re delighted to be part of the Gold Sponsor team again this year.

“The Awards recognise all areas of our industry, from new apprentices who are vital to our future, to the work of experienced fitters and manufacturing excellence. The event, itself, is also a great opportunity to catch-up with customers and colleagues within the industry and celebrate the many fabulous achievements.”

The other Gold sponsors of the Awards are BAL, Instarmac, N&C Nicobond, Norcros Adhesives, Shackerley (Holdings) Group Ltd.

A further highlight of this year’s TTA Awards day in May will be the programme of CPD seminars which are taking place at The St John’s Hotel at the same time as The Tiling Show. The CPD seminar programme is now clearly going to be an excellent event in its own right – a great opportunity for architects and specifiers to keep their professional qualifications up to date. The 45 minute presentations start at 10am, and the confirmed presenting companies so far are:

  • BAL – External Tiling Solutions for Balconies and Terraces;
  • Shackerley (Holdings) Group Ltd – SureClad Ventilated Façade Systems;
  • Norcros Adhesives – Tiling to Anhydrite Screeds;
  • Instarmac – Underfloor Heating;
  • Nicholls & Clarke Group – Creating a Watertight Wetroom;
  • Trimline Group – Tile Backer Boards;
  • Walls & Floors – Slip Resistance Considerations when Specifying Floor Tiling.
  • BCT and Tilemaster will also be making CPD presentations, titles to be confirmed.

“It is really exciting to be able to offer these great new events to run alongside the TTA Awards for 2018,” says Paul Luff, TTA chairman. “For me this really encapsulates what the TTA is all about – firstly encouraging business by setting up attractive new forums, such as exhibitions, where our members can cement relationships with current and future customers. It is also about quality and driving up standards in our industry. That is why the CPD aspect of what we are doing is so valuable and I really think our members and the whole industry are going to benefit from what we are doing.”

Both the Tiling Association Tiling Show and the CPD Seminar Day open at 10am on Friday 18 May at The St Johns Hotel, Solihull. Both events are open to the trade only. For more information about either event or the TTA Awards, which are taking place in the evening, please email the TTA on awards@tile.org.uk or Tel: 0300 365 8453.
