GOVERNMENT AGREES TO EXTENSION FOR UKCA MARKING FOR CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has confirmed that the UK government will extend recognition of CE Marking for construction products until 30 June 2025.
The Government has changed its guidance providing practical information for placing construction products on the GB market. The new guidance can be found here:

This decision allows more time for businesses to prepare and avoids the 1st January deadline, after which businesses could not have legally sold certain goods because they have not achieved UKCA status.
Following lobbying by the Construction Products Association (CPA), of which TTA is a member, and others, the Government now intends to use the next 2.5 years to engage widely and scope out meaningful, sensible reform and transition plans.
The CPA will continue liaising closely with government to monitor and review the issues at hand, identify the problems for industry and government, and ensure that industry can work with the policies put forward.
The CPA invites interested members to join the next discussions on this issue, where Government officials are expected to be on hand:
- Thursday, 05 January 2023 for a meeting of the Construction Leadership Council’s Standards and Regulatory Alignment Group (chaired by the CPA);
- Wednesday, 25 January 2023 for a meeting of the CPA’s Technical Committee.
