Norcros Adhesives is delighted to announce that it has extended its solus supply agreement with Barratt Homes for a further three years.

Barratt Homes are the UK’s leading national housebuilder, and are currently building upwards of 17,500 new homes per year.

The new agreement with Norcros follows on from five years in which the two companies have successfully worked together. An example of this collaboration has been the Sugar Quay project in London, and Barratts have been keen to extend the relationship for a further period. Sugar Quay, jointly developed by Barratts London and CPC Group Limited, comprised the replacement of a 1970s office block with a contemporary mixed-use scheme designed by Foster & Partners. Because of the scale of the project, the contractors used anhydrite screeds to deliver benefits of speed and economy.

Norcros carried out a series of successful on-site tests using the new Norcros Pro Gyp-Base Fast Track Sealer, which greatly reduces the minimum drying times normally applicable for anhydrite screeds.

“As a result of the Sugar Quay project, we were very impressed with the ability of Norcros Adhesives to provide solutions for problem areas in floor tiling,” says John Adams, group procurement director of Barratt Homes. We are therefore more than happy to continue our solus supply agreement with the company to at least 2021. Anhydrite screeds are being used increasingly in the housebuilding sector, due to their speed, cost-effectiveness and more environmentally-friendly composition. So we need partners who can work with us on this and other new construction technologies which are increasingly being used in the housebuilding industry.”

Rob Kyle, sales director for Norcros Adhesives, says: “This agreement is for a our full range of products and will be on all new houses built by Barratts. The housebuilding sector is growing strongly at the moment, due to large consumer demand. Barratts are the market leader, so this is a very important and growing market relationship for Norcros Adhesives going forward.”
