THE TILE ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES THIS YEAR’S AWARDS FINALISTS

The TTA is delighted to announce the finalists in 15 Awards categories, as excitement builds in the run-up to the big day itself on 18 May. In total the judges have selected 75 finalists and they are all available to view on the TTA Awards website at: http://www.ttaawards.com/2018-finalists/

This year saw the widest and most experienced judging panel ever assembled for the TTA Awards, including representation from RIBA for the first time. They certainly had a tough job, given the quality of Award entries that were received. Those who took the opportunity to vote in the categories that were open to online public voting will have seen this for themselves.

The TTA has received many comments from the judges this year, regarding the high calibre of entries received. It is also particularly pleasing to note the diversity of companies which have entered, with a lot of new entrants joining in for the first time.

Covering projects, large and small, commercial and domestic, best products, individual endeavour, online, environmental and marketing initiatives and many other areas, the TTA Awards are a celebration of the very best that our industry has to offer. As well as providing a “night off” for the industry, the Awards have over more than a decade established a very serious role encouraging quality and endeavour in everything our industry achieves.

“The quality and number of finalists that we have this year is a real vindication of the stature of the TTA Awards in 2018 – and I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all finalists for their achievement so far,” says Paul Luff, chairman of the TTA. “All the signs are that this is turning into a vintage TTA Awards year! Because of the ever increasing relevance of the Awards since their inception, we have been successful in attracting the largest-ever number of sponsors – Gold and Silver – who are supporting the Awards this year, and we are indebted to them. I’m sure that this year we also have the widest and most capable judging panel that we have have ever had the pleasure of working with.

“We have also launched exciting new initiatives, which are capturing the interest and imagination of the industry. Our new Tile Association Tiling Show, sponsored by British Ceramic Tile, now has virtually 30 exhibitors signed up, with more coming on board all the time and the CPD seminars will now pack a full programme of key CPD information for our important specification and architectural audience.”

As well as the finalists in 15 categories which are available to view on the Awards website, there are also finalists in the Trainee Tile Fixer category, who will be announced on Awards night itself. The winners in all categories will be announced on the evening. The results and other Awards news will be broadcast live on social media during the evening.

The TTA is grateful to the record number of sponsors who are supporting the Awards this year. Gold sponsors are: BAL, British Ceramic Tile (who are also event sponsor for The Tiling Show), Instarmac, N&C Nicobond, Norcros Adhesives, Shackerley (Holdings) Group Ltd, Tilemaster, Trimline, Walls and Floors. The Silver sponsors are Lithofin and Local Heroes.

There are still places available for Awards night, which takes place on Friday 18 May at The St Johns Hotel, Solihull. Individual tickets cost £175 +VAT, and a table of 10 costs £1575 +VAT. For full information please email the TTA on awards@tile.org.uk or Tel: 0300 365 8453.
