TILEMASTER JOINS LINE-UP AT THRUXTON RACE TRACK
Five products from Tilemaster’s range have been specified by Tile Superstores Ringwood at Thruxton Race Track. The specification forms part of an extensive porcelain installation throughout a new, flagship hospitality building. The new facility will be inaugurated this summer, as part of Thruxton’s 50th anniversary year.
Thruxton’s modernisation programme has been driven by Group Managing Director, Bill Coombs, and whilst the prized circuit has remained untouched, Thruxton’s venue features are being rejuvenated. The stunning new hospitality building replaces the former Goodwood Restaurant and Thruxton Suite, and includes a restaurant, function rooms, hospitality suites and exhibition space. A second floor viewing terrace will also give a birds-eye view of the track’s first corner.
The new building features a 1000m2 wall and floor tile installation; white matt and grey matt Italian porcelain designs were supplied and installed by Tile Superstores. During floor preparation, Tilemaster’s Prime + Grip – a fast-drying ready mixed primer – was used to provide a textured ‘plus grip’ surface and Tilemaster Anti-fracture Matting was installed to absorb and accommodate the lateral movement from substrates. The matting was bonded using Tilemaster Trade Flexi Rapid and Standard Set Setaflex adhesive was used for fixing the wall and floor tiles. The installation was finished with Dural expansion joint trims and colour-matched Tilemaster Grout 3000, in white and a mid grey tone.
