TTA SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN TODAY MAKES A REAL DIFFERENCE

TTA has supported Children Today Charitable Trust for 15 years, and in that time the generosity of the industry at the TTA Awards has helped to improve the lives of more than 100 children.

These are children like Olivia, who has global development delay after suffering brain damage in the womb. Seven-year old Olivia has problems with her mobility and communication. Despite her disability, Olivia started walking when she was about three and a half and her communication is really coming on too. She’s not able to talk yet, but she’s a very keen learner and uses Makaton to communicate.

Children Today provided the funding for an adapted trike to help with her physical development whilst joining her parents, who are keen cyclists, on bike rides.

Olivia’s mum says: “We’re a very outdoorsy family – being Dutch, cycling is in my blood! However, Olivia’s physical disabilities made it difficult to get out and about as a family. We often need to use the wheelchair as she gets tired very quickly. The trike has been a great boost to her both physically and mentally. It helps to improve her posture as it offers great physical support and has also given her a confidence boost. Thank you for your support it has been truly life-changing for us as a family!”

This year marks Children Today’s 25thanniversary and the charity has expressed its thanks to TTA for the help in changing children’s lives for the better. Children Today is also extending an invitation to everybody to take part in one of their upcoming fundraising challenges.
