ULTRATILEFIX COOKS UP A STORM AT MILLER & CARTER
Skilled tiling contractors, The Great Northern Tiling Company, have used a number products from UltraTileFix’s range of adhesives and grouts to install wall and floor tiling at Miller & Carter’s latest restaurant.
Famed for their delicious food and unique buildings, Miller & Carter is fast becoming the nation’s favourite steakhouse.
In January 2019, work began on Miller & Carter’s latest restaurant, located in Banbury, Oxfordshire, with all tiling completed by experienced contractors and TTA Members, The Great Northern Tiling Company (GNTC).
GNTC have been using UltraTileFix materials to complete a variety of tiling installations for a number of years and this exciting project was certainly no different.
Before any tiling could commence, GNTC needed to prepare the substrate by priming the entire area with ProPrimer, an advanced polymer primer for exceptional bond and multiple substrates. Designed for both porous and non-porous substrates, ProPrimer enhances adhesion and is proven to reduce substrate porosity.
Once ProPrimer had been applied and fully dried, GNTC used ProFlex SP in Grey and ProFlex SPES tile adhesives to fix 46m² of floor tiles, 57m² of wall tiling and 6m² of brick slips.
ProFlex SP rapid set flexible tile adhesive and ProFlex SPES standard set flexible tile adhesive are both classified as S1 in accordance with EN 12004 and have a high level of deformation for greater tolerance to movement. The S1 properties of ProFlex SP and ProFlex SPES make them the perfect choice for timber floors, swimming pools and underfloor heating systems.
Completing the project, GNTC used ProGrout Flexible in White and Grey to grout the chosen floor and wall tiles. Designed for areas where movement or vibration is likely, ProGrout Flexible is suitable for joint widths up to 20mm, is suitable for use with all tile types and can be washed down easily with minimal effort.
Available in 12 beautiful tones, ProGrout Flexible is mould resistant, boasts a 30 – 60 minute pot life and will hard set in just 12 hours. What’s more, ProGrout Flexible has been developed using ColourShield Technology – a process which involves the addition of a specialist additive for lasting colour protection.
