CRAVEN DUNNILL JACKFIELD – TAPPING INTO THE GLOBAL APPETITE FOR BRITISH HANDMADE CERAMICS

Specialist ceramic tile production has continued throughout lockdown at Craven Dunnill Jackfield, with its highly skilled team of craftsmen remaining hard at work, handmaking decorative ceramics for ongoing projects in Saudi Arabia, USA, Uruguay, and the UK.

The appetite for British ceramic handcraft appears only to be growing, despite the current trading challenges. This complements the wider trend for greater provenance and integrity in the supply of building and design materials. All products are handmade in the UK by the team at Craven Dunnill Jackfield, each one uniquely crafted to the finest detail for both commercial and residential markets.

Many designs have been recycled from the original Craven Dunnill archives, dating back over 100 years. They are then paired with unique glazes, colours, 3-dimensional reliefs and translucent finishes to deliver a more contemporary twist. Simon Howells, Managing Director of the Craven Dunnill Group, comments: “Increasingly customers want to see real product integrity, and that is right at the heart of what we do. We celebrate artisan production, blending modern and traditional techniques, to reinvent decorative ceramics; and that is why we are seeing clients embracing this within their projects”.

The Company provides the ceramic expertise from concept to installation, including producing CAD designs, carving moulds, hand-crafting the ceramics, mixing glaze recipes for trials, offering advice on fixing and liaising with the installers. 1. We have two old tiles (possibly Victorian) & on the back it has : Craven. Dunnill. Co, Shropshire, England. There is a circular crest with a moorish type temple & “The Jack Field” words. To the right of the circular logo it has MD then 3 dots & to the right 2 dots. I am trying to establish when these tiles were manufactured.
